“Ini penting mengingat hal tersebut akan memberikan informasi yang sifatnya cover both side yang dapat dipertanggungjawabkan dalam sebuah pemberitaan,” ungkap Ketua Umum IMO-Indonesia Yakub F Ismail, di Jakarta, Rabu (27/12/23) pagi.

Menurut Yakub, kejadian yang sering kali dialami para wartawan atau media ketika hendak menyajikan informasi yang kredibel terhambat karena dari instansi atau institusi terkait kurang responsif dalam memberikan tanggapan.

“Padahal, setiap instansi atau institusi memiliki bagian kehumasan yang diharapkan mampu merespons berbagai situasi yang berkaitan dengan lembaga tersebut ketika ada pihak-pihak yang membutuhkan,” ujar Yakub.

Selanjutnya, hal yang lebih penting lagi dari respons cepat bidang kehumasan itu dapat memenuhi informasi berimbang dari berbagai asumsi liar yang kerap terbangun di luar institusi terkait.

“Tanggapan melalui kehumasan itu akan membantu pewarta atau media dalam memberikan klarifikasi atau setidaknya menerima informasi yang berimbang dari institusi yang sedang dibicarakan,” kata Yakub.

“Untuk itu kepada semua awak media yang melakukan tugas jurnalistiknya sebagimana UU Pers harus mendapatkan perlakuan yang sama. Sehingga mampu menyajikan pemberitaan sesua fakta dan kredibilitas informasi publik itu sendiri,” terangnya.

Kaitannya dengan itu, Dewan Pimpinan Pusat IMO-Indonesia menghimbau kepada seluruh Dewan Pimpinan Wilayah dan Cabang untuk segera menjalin silaturahmi dengan kehumasan dalam rangka memperkenalkan organisasinya.

Hal tersebut dimaksud agar ada upaya yang cepat dari organisasi untuk segera dapat menjembatani kepentingan media. Namun demikian, IMO-Indonesia juga akan membuat catatan terhadap kehumasan yang tidak menjalankan fungsinya secara baik dan berimbang terhadap media. (red)
